European Markets ended higher on Monday led by banking and oil stocks.Banking stocks were among top gainers after an influential analysts upgraded Goldman Sachs.Europe's largest bank,HSBC, gained 1.1 percent, while BNP Paribas, France's largest bank, gained 2.5 precent and Deutsche Bank, Germany's biggest bank, gained 4.2 percent.
Oil stocks also gained with BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Total, Repsol and BG Group up more than 1 percent.Luxury car manufacturer,Porsche shares surged 9.7 percent on news reports that the Persian Gulf state of Qatar offered to buy a stake in the company.
FTSE 100 index ended up 1.82 percent up 74.96 points to 4202.13,Germany's DAX closed up 3.19 percent up 146.03 points to 4722.34,France's CAC 40 up 2.31 percent up 68.98 points to 3052.08.
On the commodity markets,Gold prices edged higher.Crude oil rose 16 cents to settle at $59.85 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.Gold gained to settle at $923 an ounce.
