Markets ended the day marginally higher after a choppy trade led by realty and banking stocks.Markets opened strong on Friday lead by positive global cues and sustained buying by the foreign funds.Markets pared nearly all of its gains in the last hour of trade mainly led by profit taking.Sensex gained 0.69 percent , up 75.69 points to close at 11,023.09.NSE was up 0.44 percent,up 14.90 points to settle at 3,384.40.Market breadth remained positive as 1362 stocks closed in green while 1194 stocks closed in red and 94 stocks remained unchanged in BSE.BSE Midcap closed up 0.98 percent up 33.87 points to 3,472.60 and Small Cap indices gained 0.57 percent up 22.57 points to 3,951.56.
Bse Realty index gained 3.13 percent up 65.75 points to 2,166.49.Unitech Ltd. was up 21.34 percent up 9.25 to close at 52.60 as the company board approved raising of Rs 5,000 crore via QIP issue.Mahindra Lifespace and Anant Raj Indust both gained by 10 percent.Parsvnath Developers was up 8.94 percent up 4.20 to close at 51.20.DLF Ltd. close lower 1.75 percent down 4.10 to close at 230.55.
Bse Bankex index was up 2.93 percent up 157.16 points to 5,526.33.Allahabad Bank was up 10.09 percent up 4.90 to close at 53.45.Axis Bank Ltd. was up 7.04 percent up 33.15 to close at 503.80.SBI was up 3.54 percent up 44.65 to close at 1,306.35.ICICI Bank was up 3.53 percent up 15.05 to close at 441.45.
Top Gainers were Unitech Ltd. up 21.34 percent, Allahabad Bank up 10.09 percent,Jai Corp Ltd. up 10.00 percent, Indian Overseas up 9.74 percent.Top losers were Hindalco down 5.18 percent,Indiabulls Real Esta down 5.05 percent,JSW Steel down 4.35 percent,Tech Mahindra down 4.26 percent.
Asian Markets closed higher on Friday following cues from U.S. markets with Japan's Nikkei 225 Average up 1.74 percent up 152.32 points at 8907.58.Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index up 0.12 percent up 18.28 points to 15601.27.
FTSE 100 index trading higher up 0.92 percent up 37.09 points to 4090.07,Germany's DAX trading higher up 1.17 percent up 54.02 points to 4663.48,France's CAC 40 trading higher up 1.6 percent up 48.52 points to 3086.7.
