U.S. Stocks surged on Monday,led by rally in the financial sector.The 30-stock Dow Jones industrial average was up 2.27 percent,up 185.16 points to 8331.68. The broad Standard & Poor's 500 index was up 21.92 points, up 2.49 percent, to 901.05.Nasdaq composite index gained 37.17 points,up 2.12 percent, to 1793.21.
Banking stocks gained with Goldman Sachs up 5.3 percent,Bank of America up 9.34 percent,JPMorgan Chase up 7.33 percent and Citigroup up 7.34 percent.General Electric gained 6.3 percent rising ahead of earnings scheduled to be report on Friday.
FTSE 100 index ended up 1.82 percent up 74.96 points to 4202.13,Germany's DAX closed up 3.19 percent up 146.03 points to 4722.34,France's CAC 40 up 2.31 percent up 68.98 points to 3052.08.
Oil prices slipped on Monday,U.S. light crude oil for August delivery fell 20 cents to settle at $59.69 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.London Brent crude rose above $60 a barrel.Gold was up 1.10 percent up $10 to settle at $923 an ounce.Dollar rose against the yen on Monday.
