U.S. Markets closed lower on Thursday as Banking shares plunged with Dow Jones industrial average closed down 1.15 percent down 85.78 points to settle at 7400.8.Nasdaq Composite Index closed down 0.52 percent down 7.74 points to settle at 1483.48.S&P 500 closed down 1.3 percent down 10.31 points to settle at 784.04.
FTSE 100 index closed up 0.31 percent up 11.94 points to 3816.93,Germany's DAX closed up 1.18 percent up 47.14 points to 4043.46,France's CAC 40 closed up 0.6 percent up 16.65 points to 2776.99.
Crude oil for April delivery rose 7.2 percent up $3.47 to $51.61 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.Gold futures gained more than 8 percent to end near $960 an ounce.Dollar was down against other major currencies.
